My pottery has earned a reputation for originality and commitment to the process of creating pots in the finest traditions. I make pots that are both beautifully created and useful in stoneware and porcelain. I draw my inspiration from the wonders of English and Chinese potting traditions, but blend them to create pots that work well in modern homes.

I believe that the wisdom that has been passed down from potter to potter through the ages is as valid today and use these traditions along with my own ideas to enhance my work. The pieces I create are either wood or gas fired and my wood kiln is fuelled by the chestnut that I coppice each winter from my own woodland. My glazes use the wood ash that this work and other bonfires yield and these give unique qualities which vary from year to year. I use only the clays and glazes that I design and mix myself and prefer to use kickwheels for throwing.

My pots can be bought directly from my showroom which is open Monday through Saturday from 10am – 4pm. I am happy to accept commissions for all domestic items, including plates. This service is ideal for gift items and pieces that you would like to influence yourself.

I also run adult classes on a regular basis as well as five day courses. I keep the groups small so that each can get the most out of the learning and creative experience. I currently run two evening classes each week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9pm. The cost is just £15 per evening. To arrange a group booking or to find out when the next five day course is, please do get in touch.
